Selekt Audio ("we," "us," or "our") operates a platform for music producers that includes a curated sample library, marketplace, community challenges, and AI-powered audio tools. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use the Selekt Audio platform, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and display name. Authentication is handled through Supabase Auth.

Profile Information. You may optionally provide additional profile details such as a bio and avatar image.

Usage Data. We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including samples you browse, download, and favorite, as well as your listening history and search queries.

Payment Information. Payments are processed by third-party payment processors. We do not store your credit card numbers or full payment credentials. We may receive transaction confirmations, purchase history, and billing details from our payment providers.

Audio Uploads. When you use tools such as key detection or stem separation, you may upload audio files for processing. These files are processed in real time and are not retained on our servers unless you explicitly choose to save the results to your account.

Device and Browser Information. We automatically collect technical information including your IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and referring URLs for analytics, security, and service improvement purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service and its features
• Process marketplace transactions and manage your account
• Send you notifications about new sample drops, challenge updates, and platform announcements
• Analyze usage patterns to improve content recommendations and personalize your experience

4. Information Sharing

Public Profile. Your username, display name, bio, and avatar are visible to other users on the platform. Marketplace listings you create are publicly accessible.

No Sale of Personal Data. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Service Providers. We share information with trusted third-party providers who assist us in operating the Service, including:

• Authentication providers — to securely manage user accounts, sign-in, and session management.
• Cloud hosting and storage providers — to store and deliver audio files, metadata, and application data.
• Payment processors (such as Stripe, PayPal, and/or Gumroad) — to process subscriptions and marketplace transactions. These providers may receive your name, email, and billing information as necessary to complete transactions. We do not store your credit card numbers.
• Analytics providers — to understand usage patterns and improve the Service.
• Content delivery networks — to deliver audio and media content efficiently worldwide.

These providers are contractually obligated to use your data only to perform services on our behalf and in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We do not send user audio to external AI services — all audio analysis (key detection, BPM analysis, stem separation, instrument classification) is performed using open-source models running on our own infrastructure.

Legal Requirements. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Selekt Audio, our users, or the public.

5. Cookies & Tracking

• Essential Cookies. We use authentication cookies to keep you signed in and maintain your session. These are required for the Service to function.
• Analytics Cookies. We may use optional analytics cookies to understand how users interact with the platform. You can opt out of these through your browser settings.
• No Advertising Cookies. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption of data in transit via TLS/SSL, secure authentication protocols, and access controls on our infrastructure.
